The program is based at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in Penang, Malaysia, and is organized by the Harpswell Foundation in partnership with the Center for Research on Women and Gender, KANITA, at USM.
The mission of the Harpswell ASEAN Program in Women’s Leadership is to bring about positive social change in Southeast Asia through the action and equal participation of women.
2021-2022 Update
In light of COVID-19 outbreak, we have decided to postpone our annual Harpswell ASEAN Program in Women's Leadership 2020 to next year 2022. Our main concern is to guarantee the health of everyone involved. We will not be taking new applications for 2022. We will accept applications for 2023 in July 2022. Please check our website regularly for any updates and future opportunities.
We believe that educated women with leadership ability constitute the most powerful force to bring about social and economic change in the world.
|
We focus on a relatively small number of the brightest young women with leadership potential and we support that potential.
|
We work to equip young women from Southeast Asia with leadership skills and a supportive network to promote gender equality and social justice.
